How OnApp CDN works
OnApp CDN uses a combination of software and services to enable you to build, launch and manage your own CDN.
-
Edge server virtual appliance
OnApp CDN includes a free edge server virtual appliance that deploys on hypervisor servers in your OnApp cloud, or on standalone physical edge servers.

Hosted Anycast DNS service
OnApp CDN includes a global hosted Anycast DNS service (OnApp CDNaaS). Hosted by OnApp at datacenters around the world, it integrates automatically with your edge servers and redirects content requests from end users to the most suitable location.

CDN Storage servers
OnApp CDN lets you add dedicated CDN Storage servers to your CDN set-up. Using dedicated storage removes the workload from origin servers, where content is originally hosted. It also helps to reduce latency and throughput bottlenecks from a single origin, by distributing content across multiple locations.

Federated CDN Marketplace
With OnApp CDN you can build your own CDN service quickly and easily, using your own datacenters and/or locations from our global CDN Marketplace. OnApp provides an independent broker service for the marketplace, so the whole process is simple and transparent.
