A brief history...
The first version of the OnApp platform launched in July 2010 after two years of development, and brought turnkey cloud deployment to the hosting industry. OnApp is now the leading cloud platform for service providers, powering an estimated 1 in 3 public clouds around the world, and many other private, VPS and hybrid cloud services for hosts, telcos and MSPs.
-
In August 2011 we added our global CDN to the OnApp platform, enabling you to reach 170+ locations on demand, and accelerate video, application and website delivery for your customers. OnApp CDN is already more than twice the size of the Amazon and Microsoft CDNs combined. This was also the birth of the OnApp Federation.
-
In March 2012 we added OnApp Storage, our integrated SAN, and in November 2013 we brought dedicated servers into the OnApp platform, too.
- In September 2014, SolusVM joined OnApp and the SolusVM virtual server management system became part of the OnApp family, alongside the OnApp cloud platform.
