Patches and add-ons
Disk deactivation hotfix (OnApp Cloud v2.3.2)
This hotfix addresses the following issues experienced by some customers in OnApp Cloud v2.3.2:
- Disks not deactivating properly during backup transactions, disk migration, when restoring backups, and when stopping VMs
- Some transaction types (including host migration) failing when backup transactions are running, or when zombie backups are present
These issues may cause “cannot deactivate disk” errors and leave erroneous disk snapshots on the system.
Installation instructions
- Download the hotfix: {page_1}patches/lv-deactivation-patch-6.tgz
- Upload it to /onapp/interface on your Controller Server, then run the following:
cd /onapp/interface/
tar xzf lv-deactivation-patch-6.tgz
chown -R onapp:onapp /onapp/interface
/etc/init.d/httpd restart
/etc/init.d/onapp restart
Please note: the patch will not remove any snapshots which should have already been removed/deactivated, but it should prevent new instances of these problems occurring. After applying the patch we recommend that you check for errant snapshots on the system and tidy these up as required.
LV wipe add-on
This add-on zeroes out virtual machine disks when a virtual machine is deleted, or when a disk is removed from a virtual machine. Since this may create a high load on your SAN, it queues the delete processes to avoid simultaneous processes from running. Please be aware, though, that you may still see a noticeable performance hit on SANs with limited IOPS. If you need more information or help with this add-on, please contact support.
-
Installation:
- Download the LV Wipe install guide, and follow the instructions.
VM pricing patch (OnApp Cloud v2.3.2)
This patch fixes issues where virtual machine prices are not shown correctly in certain situations. This patch should only be installed on v2.3.2 of OnApp Cloud.
Installation:
- Download the VM pricing patch install guide, and follow the instructions.
Windows time sync patch (OnApp Cloud v2.3.2)
This patch modifies time configuration on Windows virtual machines to overcome synchronization issues that may be caused by Xen’s time sync behaviour. The patch ensures that the Windows Time Service is running and forces a time sync on every boot. Standalone (workgroup) Windows VMs will sync with time.windows.com, while VMs that are members of a Windows domain will use the configured Domain Controller as their time source.
Installation instructions
- Download the patch: {page_1}patches/windows_sync_time_patch.tgz
- Upload it to /onapp/interface on your Controller Server, then run the following:
cd /onapp/interface/
tar xzf windows_sync_time_patch.tgz
chown -R onapp:onapp /onapp/interface
/etc/init.d/onapp restart
Please note: after applying the patch, new Windows VMs create will have updated information in onapp.bat. To apply the change to existing VMs, rebuild networks for those VMs.
Integration modules
Parallels Business Automation
Our APS package allows resellers using PBA to offer services based on the OnApp Cloud platform.
-
Installation instructions:
- The APS for OnApp Cloud v2.3.2 will be available for download shortly.
- In the meantime, please contact your account manager for more information.
PHP wrapper
This wrapper enables you to make API calls from PHP applications. You can address the API directly by composing HTTP requests and processing responses using any tool you like, but the PHP wrapper abstracts this process to simplify integration in PHP environments. Please note that other integration modules now required the wrapper.
